Renaissance is a community based receiving home for children in support of juvenile justice. It is operated by the Board of Directors and Advisors of the Community Receiving Home, Inc., a nonprofit corporation. The leadership of the Renaissance board is comprised of concerned citizens as well as judges and law enforcement officials who donate their time. Renaissance operates 24 hours per day – 365 days per year. Renaissance is licensed by the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services and accredited by the American Correctional Association. The facility receives youth from Rapides Parish on a priority basis and regionally on a space available basis with daily fees. Funding is provided by a Rapides Parish millage as well as tax deductible contributions, state per diem and grants.
